Hi Sheldon,
It's been a great moment meeting you at the Montreal Jazz festival Guitar Show and playing your basses. Among all is my favourite Z3 but all the rest sounds very good too. The Z3 has got something particular with it's 3 pick-ups configuration going down to that fat clean bass through the growling mids up to a super soft treble end. I think this bass has not got one particular style of music because of the multiple pick-ups combination offering the player to dial into any style (as if there are 3 to 4 basses built in). The on-board pre-amp is very very very quiet not even a hiss in the headphones. The slanted frets offers a natural comfort and position to the fingers with no great efforts when playing. The saddles are original and the strings are set low action with no fret buzz and the neck is strong. I would recommend anyone looking for a bass to consider it first because this bass is a SERIOUS BASS !!!!!!

The Dingwall Lee Sklar bass redefines the instrument, with the combination of tone and playability that is worth every penny. Playing this bass is equivalent to ice skating versus walking. This is a direct result of Sheldon's innovative craftmanship and his ability to shape an evolution in bass guitar design. This bass has to be played to appreciate, the ease of playing is unprecedented, and in my humble opinion, the biggest advancement in bass technology to date. You have to be willing to throw preconcieved notions out the window to enjoy the uniqueness this instrument offers you. Sheldon is a genius!

I still have my Fender precision lite that I bought 17 yrs ago, but when I bought the Lee Sklar this year....I can't believe that I waited this long to buy one. Some people ask for that much it should play itself....sometimes it feels like it does!

I've played it for over 6 months now and it's every bit as good as Leland said it would be, and Sheldon did a great job creating such a fantastic instrument. The sound is phenomenal with a sustain that never seems to quit.

I also saw Leland play with James Taylor and Carol King and that bass tone is absolutely amazing. Every note was huge, pure and clean. What a great bass player and a great bass. I play a dingwall in a few heavy & experimental rock bands and love it! DINGWALL FOREVER!!!
